Indications for Spinal Decompression Therapy:

  • Degenerative disc disease
  • Pain that has lasted more than one month and is generated from a process other than herniation
  • Herniated disc disease and bulges (“Slipped Disc”)
  • Back pain that lasts longer than one week
  • Sciatica, Leg Pain
  • Posterior facet syndrome
  • Spinal stenosis/arthritis
  • Pinched nerve
  • Facet syndrome
  • Golf-related back pain
  • Spinal ligamentous strain
  • Spinal musculature weakness/atrophy
  • Spondylosis

Contraindications for Spinal Decompression Therapy:

  • Pregnancy
  • Severe obesity
  • Individuals with loss of bowel and/or bladder control. e.g. Cauda Equina Syndrome
  • Severe osteoporosis
  • Growing children
  • Age > 70 years old
  • History of spinal surgery with eg. screws/metal plates/cages ( spinal fusion )
  • Recent spinal and/or hip surgery
